Give insects a pardon, most are harmless and really cool looking up close.
Remember, they spread the paint that colors our gardens.
               Insects and Diseases
                     Just The Facts

--- Insects and diseases attack the same plants at the same time
every year. Know your plants and what to expect.

--- Know when the insects eggs will hatch.  This is the best time to
     eliminate.

--- What triggers disease? When you know your plants, you
know their triggers and you can treat early.

--- Rejuvenation pruning and thinning of certain plants can eliminate
insects and lessen disease. This also reduces pesticide use.

--- Realize a certain amount of insects are tolerable. Only you
know your threshold for damage. If you need chemicals, use
them but read labels and be safe. Remember, using more
chemical will not kill the insect any better or faster than the
     labeled rate.
